Albert Joe Driver, 75 of St. Charles passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born Nov. 9, 1941 in White Plains to the late Hester Lee and Margret (Binkley) Driver. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and returned home to work with heavy equipment in the coal mines for 25 years until his retirement. He was a splendid story teller and always enjoyed a good joke. Joe loved to hunt, fish, trap and have a good debate on about any subject. He was a member of Madisonville United Methodist Church and he will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gilbert and Dewey Driver; and one sister, Gail (Driver) Osborne.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, LaVonne "Lonnie" Knight Driver; daughters, Angie (Ronnie) Creekmur and Jody (Jimmy) Baldwin; one son, Joshua (Debbie) Driver; grandsons, Jedidiah Plunkett, Jason Baldwin, and Damon Driver; sister, Mae Bell (Wayne) Cates; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Burial will be immediately following in Concord Cemetery, White Plains. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. till service time at the funeral home.
