Billy Ray Gipson, 70, of Madisonville passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. Born May 7, 1947, to the late Jimmy and Odeal (Foster) Gipson. He enjoyed his work as a logger and a welder, and he had a passion for horses. He loved time spent with his family and watching old westerns.
Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mickey and Katherine Gipson and Bertha Grey; and three brothers, James and Novel Gipson and Kenny Rudd.
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Jenetta Downs Gipson; son, Kenneth (Lyndsey) Gipson of Mortons Gap; three daughters, Juanita "Sissy" (Tyrel) Menser of St. Charles, Michelle (Chuck) Jackson of Greenville, and Kelly (Raymond) Gipson Cobb of Madisonville; 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Sierra, Stephanie, Autumn, Colten, Aaliyah, Cymantha, and Alise; 4 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patsy Buchanan of Madisonville, Brenda (Mike) Jarvis of Graham, and Carolyn (Kenneth) Gossett of Bremen; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Kenneth Gipson, Kelly Gipson Cobb, Raymond Cobb, Sissy Menser, Tyrel Menser, Henry Faughn and Jamie Love.
