Carolyn Darlene (Bedwell) Phillips

June 10, 1939 ~ April 3, 2016 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Carolyn Darlene (Bedwell) Phillips, 76, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on June 10, 1939 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to the late Ira Ray and Afton (Cadwell) Bedwell.  She lived in Nortonville with her husband Jimmie.

Carolyn, better known as "Meme" was the epitome of pure love, strength and courage.  Through all of the trials she faced in life, she faced each one with a beautiful smile on her face, and a courageous will to fight in her heart.  She loved unconditionally and the love she gave all of us will remain with us until we are reunited.  She had a love for beautiful flowers, family gatherings, pugs and hummingbirds.  She loved everything about Christmas, especially her snowman décor.  We will always remember her Sunday morning breakfasts with her famous buttermilk biscuits and laughter shared around the kitchen table.  She was the matriarch of an amazing family who shares an unbreakable bond.

Carolyn is survived by the love of her life, Jimmie Phillips, who she was married to for 61 wonderful years.  Together they created a beautiful life full of priceless memories.  She is also survived by her three sons, Jeff ( Lisa) Phillips, Kevin (Janneke) Phillips, and Randy (Tracie) Phillips; brother, Jimmy (Joyce) Bedwell;  son in law, Mike Faulk; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Faulk, Jenny Phillips Martinez, Josh (Ashley) Phillips, Patrick Phillips, Duska Phillips, Tiffany (Bryan) Harrison, Chad ( Ashley) Phillips, and Scotty Phillips; and 19 great grandchildren who each shared a special bond with their Meme.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Ray and Afton(Cadwell) Bedwell; her baby Keith Phillips; daughter, Vicki Faulk; grandson, Nate Phillips; sister, Ramona (Bedwell) Young; and brothers, Gordon, Jack, and Bob Bedwell.

Pallbearers are Jeff, Randy, Kevin and Chad Phillips, and Mike and Jason Faulk.  Honorary pallbearers are Greg Young and Bryan Harrison.

Our Family would like to extend a special Thank You to the doctors and nursing staff at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN for the care and love shown to her and to our family.
