Doris Virginia (Major) Herring

Doris Virginia Herring, 93 of White Plains passed away April 30, 2016, at home.  She was born July 31, 1922,  in Slaughters to the late Albert and Ivy (Qualls) Major.  Doris was a member of the Eastern Star.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Crittenden Herring, Sr.; and two brothers, Malcolm and Henry Major.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Campbell of Panama, FL, Deborah Putman of White Plains, and Pamela Browning of White Plains; three sons, Dale Herring of Paducah, Daryl Herring of Evansville, IN, and Charles Herring, Jr. of White Plains; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dee Major of IN and Gene Major of Grand Rivers; and two sisters, Betty Adcock of Evansville, IN and Emma Hicklin of Lillian, AL.

Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains with Bro. John Shoulta officiating.  Visitation at the graveside after 12:15 p.m.
