Garland Eugene Johnson, 73 of Nortonville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at his home. Born June 4, 1942, to the late Bedford and Dessie (Carroll) Johnson. Garland was a retired truck driver, he enjoyed fishing.
Preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Galloway and Earlene Pollard; and five brothers, Pete, Bill, and James William Johnson, and two infants.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susie (Dickerson) Johnson; two sons, Brian Johnson of White Plains, and Gary (Elizabeth) Johnson of White Plains; 6 grandchildren, Cody, Kaitlin, Brian Rein, Kristofer, Corey, and Brianna Johnson; 3 great-grandchildren, Caden, Impala, and Nevaeh Johnson; three brothers, Edward Johnson of Dawson Springs, Charles Johnson of Cedar Lake, IN, and Wayne Johnson of Nortonville; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville, on Monday at 11:00a.m. with Brother Steve Rutherford and Bro. Marshall and Connie Crick officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will be Sunday 5p.m. to 8p.m. and Monday after 9a.m. Pallbearers are Brian and Cody Johnson, Bobby and Justin Cook, David Knight, Matthew Ward, Austin Pryor and Eric Dickerson. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Dickerson, Corey and Kristofer Johnson.
