Gene Loyd Lee, 83 of White Plains, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at home. Born August 4, 1932, to the late Elvey and Almer (Clark) Lee of Mortons Gap. Gene retired from Island Creek Coal Fies Mine and was a member of the White Plains Missionary Baptist Church. He always enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with loved ones.
Preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Josephine (Reynolds) Lee; and grandson, Christopher Lee; six brothers, Jimmie, Joel, Carl Ray, Earl Thomas, Charly, and Rodney Lee; and six sisters, Alberta Manzardo, Bernice Lisanby, Zadie Preece, Mary Young, Juanita Browning, and Flora Mae Elkins.
Survived by two sons, Michael (Carolyn) Lee, and Kenneth (Crystal) Lee, all of White Plains; two grandsons, Bradley (Ashlee) Lee of White Plains, and Timothy (Chelsie) Lee of Shelbyville, KY; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Marshall (Carolyn) Lee of Nortonville; and two sisters, Glenda Dugger of Mortons Gap, and Letha Baize of Earlington.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Bro. Marshall Lee officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains. Visitation will be Saturday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday after 12 p.m. Pallbearers are Zack, Caleb, Brad, and Tim Lee, Jeff Chapman, Tommy Boyd, and Jamie Gamblin.
