John Carlisle Alexander

John Carlisle Alexander, 93 of Nortonville passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Covington's Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville.  Born March 9, 1923, to the late William and Tressa (Sisk) Alexander.  He was a World War II Army Veteran, a past president of Kiwanis in Columbus, MS, and was retired as YMCA Executive Director in Memphis, TN.  John was also a member of the Nortonville United Methodist Church.

Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Plank Alexander; two sisters, Faye Nell Carroll and Alberta Korb; and two brothers, Rex and Ralph Alexander.

Survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Mike) Milligan of Hopkinsville; two sons, John (Diane) Alexander of Charlottesville, VA, and Dr. James (Susan) Alexander of Asheville, NC; 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Saturday, November 19, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Ron Henn officiating.  Burial to follow in Good Hope Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
