Robert Jerold Rickard

Robert Jerold Rickard, 89 of Madisonville passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Baptist Health Hospital.  Born May 8, 1928 to the late Amos and Sally (Ruby) Rickard.  He was a coal miner for Peabody and a member of UMWA District 23, and he attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.  Robert loved his family and his spoiled puppy, LadyBug.

Preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Johnson; 4 brothers, Clifton, Raymond, Garland, and Bobby; and 5 sisters, Bonnie, Elizabeth, Juanita, Connie and Eula.

Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mae (Scott) Rickard; daughter, Bonnie Johnson of Nortonville; great-grandson, Mark Johnson of Hopkinsville; and sister, Sue Whitaker of White Plains.

Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville Tuesday at 2:00PM with Bro. Daniel Vandiver and Bro. Ruby Rickard officiating.  Burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation to begin at noon at the funeral home.  Pallbearers are James Rickard, Kyle Thorpe, Seth Prow, Mike Whitaker, Rick Whitaker, and Kenny Whitaker.
