William Monroe Martin, 90 years of Nortonville passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at NHC nursing home. Born December 8, 1926, to the late Silas and Virtie (Johnson) Martin of Nortonville. Bill was a local musician for more than 50 years, he loved playing the guitar. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Society of American Magicians. Bill will be remembered as an honest, loving man who enjoyed his life and family, and he will be missed by all that knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Peggy Gladdish and Bettie Martin; and brother, Carlos Martin.
Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria Celestina "Cele" Martin; sister, Naomi (Boyd) Spiker; brother, Sidney Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at 2:00PM with Father David Kennedy, Jeff Gladdish, and Steve Spiker officiating. Burial to follow in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon on Sunday. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Mark, and Gary Gladdish, Steve Spiker, and Everett Eastwood.
