William "Beaver" Vandiver, 72 years of White Plains passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born October 29, 1944, to the late Chesley and Francis (Duncan) Vandiver of Mortons Gap. A member of Faith Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was an avid UK Wildcats fan and he enjoyed playing golf.
Preceded in death by his son, David "Sweet Tooth" Vandiver; sister, Marcella Farmer; and brother, James "Tooter" Vandiver.
Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Irene (Gilmore) Vandiver; son, Brian Vandiver of Oak Grove; daughter-in-law, Melody Vandiver of White Plains; five grandchildren, William, Brian, Brandon, Brittany, and Jordon Vandiver; great-granddaughter, Alexus Vandiver; three sisters, Emmaline (Roy) Knowles and Verda Tirey all of Mortons Gap, and Wanda (Gene) Hancock of Hanson; and brother, Wallace (Janice) Vandiver of Manitou.
Service will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Friday at 11:00AM with Bro. Chuck Evans officiating. Burial to follow in Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap. Visitation will be at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Thursday from 5:00PM - 8:00PM and at the church beginning at 9:00AM on Friday. Pallbearers are Robbie and Brad Andry, Todd Meredith, William and Brian Vandiver, and Phillip Clark.
