Wreatha Jane (Rodgers) Cates

Wreatha Jane Rodgers Cates, 74 of Slaughters passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Baptist Health Hospital.  Born December 14, 1943, to the late Ralph and Obera Carroll Hughes.  She enjoyed making beautiful quilts throughout life and spending time fishing with her loving husband of 58 years.

Preceded in death by her parents; adoptive parents, Eltie and Sallie Carroll Rodgers; infant daughter, Wreatha Victoria Jane Cates; brothers, Eltie Rodgers, Jr., James Rodgers, and Allen Rodgers; and sister, Elizabeth Bryant.

Survived by her husband, John Cates; son, John (Johnny) Cates; grandson, Zachary Cates; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Wednesday, January 24, at 11:00A.M.  Burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in White Plains.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00A.M. until service time.
