Myrna Yvonne (Blades) Scott

Myrna Yvonne Scott, 84 of Nortonville passed away Monday, March 11, 2024.  Born March 27, 1939, to the late Clyde and Anna Maude (Sisk) Blades of Nortonville.  She was an active member of New Salem Baptist Church for over 40 years.  She retired from Hopkins County Board of Education after 33 years of service as a cafeteria lady at Nortonville School.  Myrna enjoyed spending time with her family and was very skilled at keeping up with everyone's activities.  She could often be found running errands with her sister, and she always had a friendly smile for everyone she came in contact with.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Eugene Scott.

Survived by her two children, Ricky Scott of Mt. Washington and Lisa (Glenn) Campbell of Kuttawa; 5 grandchildren, Andrea (Chad) Prow of Kuttawa, Jonathan (Selena) Campbell of White Plains, Christopher (Danielle) Scott of Nebo, Dustin (Sonya) Scott of Madisonville and Cameron Scott of Mortons Gap; 8 great-grandchildren, Colton Prow, Ava Prow, Brennan Scott, Carson Scott, Clay Scott, Kyle Scott, Kinsley Scott and Bryson Scott; sister, Dorothy (Bobby) Farmer of Madisonville; and 2 brothers, Tommy (Brenda) Blades of Dawson Springs and Larry (Marsha) Blades of St. Charles.

Service will be held Friday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating.  Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm and Friday after 11:00am at the funeral home.
