Bailey Odell Vandiver

Bailey Odell Vandiver, 88, formerly of Gary, Ind., passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home in Nortonville, KY.
Born April 15, 1924 in White Plains, KY, he was the son of the late Peter Frances and Minnie Belle (Neal) Vandiver.  He served during World War II in the Army Air Corps and went on to enjoy 58 years of marriage with his wife Rheda (Harrell) Vandiver.  He was a Construction Worker retired from Local 41 and a member of Nortonville Baptist Church.  Bailey loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, camping, coaching ball and was a dedicated UK fan.
He is survived by his wife, Rheda Vandiver, three daughters, Debbie (Ted) Browning of Nortonville, Peggy (Jackie) Farmer of Nortonville, Beverly (Charlie) McPherson of Belton, KY,  three sons, Bobby (Stacey) Vandiver of Gary, IN, Steven Vandiver of Cedar Lake, IN, Kenny Vandiver of Nortonville, 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Predeceased by his sister, Melva Clark, six brothers, Marshal, Charles, Frankie, Chester, Shelby, and Welby Vandiver, son, Terry Vandiver, daughter, Pamela Ferrell,  and daughter-in-law, Lynnett Vandiver.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 pm and Thursday from 10am-1pm at Bandy Funeral Home, Nortonville.  Funeral service will be held at 1pm at the funeral home with Bro. Bobby Reno officiating.  Interment will be Thursday in New Salem Cemetery, Nortonville with Military Rites performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard.  Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
