Bobbie Carol (Smith) Utley

Bobbie Carol Smith Utley, age 72, of Hermitage, TN, passed away peacefully in her home on with her son Dennis at her side, on May 30, 2019, after a long illness.

Bobbie was born in Nortonville, KY on December 27, 1946, the daughter of of the late Luther Elmer Smith and Fannie Myrtle Bell Smith. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Carol Utley, and her husband Robert Wayne Utley. 

Bobbie was the youngest of nine siblings, and was also preceded in death by them all; Exie Bell Smith Butler (Woodrow), William Marion Smith (Judy), Thomas Burton Smith (Jean), James Luther Smith, Elizabeth Ann Smith Thompson (Harold), Shirley Gail Smith Cotton, Martha Delores Smith, and Brenda Ray Smith Hartline (David).

She grew up in Nortonville, attending Nortonville Elementary School and was a graduate of South Hopkins High School. Bobbie was fun loving and was a wonderful mother and aunt. She was a lover of all types of music, loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas, and was a huge Nashville Predators fan. Bobbie retired from The Kroger Co at the Mount Juliet, TN location where she was loved by her coworkers.

Bobbie is survived by her son, Dennis Wayne Utley of Nashville, TN, her many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; Jean Smith, Judy Brasher, Paul Cotton and her life-long friends, Cheryl Boteler Hamby of Madisonville, KY, Phyllis Follin Rodgers of Newberg, IN, and Diane Browning Bagby (Mike) of Evansville, IN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday  1:00 P.M. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville, KY, with Bro. Steve Morse officiating.  Burial will be at New Salem Cemetary in Nortonville. A reception will be held immediately following the service at New Salem Baptist Church.

Visitation Tuesday 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
