Charles Thomas Hopper, 82 of Slaughters went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Saint Anthony's Hospice King Care Center in Henderson. Born September 28, 1936, to the late Carlie and Betty (Fisher) Hopper. He was the pitcher for his St. Charles Dragons baseball team and went on to work as a coal miner until he retired. He was always an avid UK Wildcats fan.
Preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Burns Hopper; and sister, Sue German.
Survived by his wife, Annie Elizabeth Hopper; children, Ricky (Tammy) Hopper of Sacramento, Jeff (Dana) Hopper of Shepardsville and Pamela Wallace of Dawson Springs; stepchildren, Sheila Puckett of Slaughters and William (Carol) Clarke of Mortons Gap; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Kay) Hopper of Madisonville and Don (Mary) Hopper of Dawson Springs; sisters, May Deane Mills of Hendersonville, TN, Josephine (Thomas) Johnson of Ilsley, Judith (Ron) Chester of Ilsley, Janie (Danny) Parrott of Madisonville and Brenda (Jimmy) Boaz of Hopkinsville; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville on Friday at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Jerry Bean officiating. Burial to follow at Gilland Ridge Cemetery in St. Charles. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
