Emmalene Knowles, 81 of Mortons Gap passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at her home. Born June 27, 1938, to the late Chesley and Frances (Duncan) Vandiver of White City. She was a member of Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church in Nortonville. She had a love for flowers and gardening, especially growing her African Violets. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her sister, Marcella Farmer; and brothers, James and William Vandiver.
Survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy Knowles; sons, Barry Knowles of Madisonville and Michael (Linda) Knowles of Fort Myers, Florida; daughter, Michele (Greg) Eli of Brentwood, Tennessee; six grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Vertie Tyrey of Mortons Gap and Wanda (Gene) Hancock of Hanson; brother, Wallace (Janice) Vandiver of Slaughters; and two caregivers, Devon Dunlap and Shannon Britt.
Service will be held Thursday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at 2:00p.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville from 5:00p.m. til 8:00p.m. and at the church Thursday after 12:00p.m. til service hour.
