Gregory Nelson Holmes

Gregory Nelson Holmes, 65 of Louisville passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. Greg was a retired attorney, he was born July 2, 1954, to the late Andrew "Sherlock" Holmes and Doris Holmes of Nortonville.  He graduated from South Hopkins High School, continued his education to earn a history degree from Transylvania University in Lexington and a law degree from the University of Louisville.

Preceded in death by his father, Andrew Nelson Holmes (“Sherlock”).

He is survived by his mother, Doris Holmes of Nortonville; brothers Dwight (Mauretta) Holmes of Madisonville, and Terry (Robin) Holmes of Murray; nieces and nephews Tristan (Fallon) Holmes, Jessica (Dustin) Blue, Ian (Harshitha) Holmes and Victoria Holmes; grand nieces Oaklee and Emarie, and grand nephew Luken.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville from 10:00 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. followed by a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville.
