Jay H. Wilkerson, 83 of Mortons Gap passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at his home. Born April 24, 1935, to the late Jasper and Hazel (Stearman) Wilkerson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mortons Gap. He retired from Crescent Island Creek Mines where he was an electrician, he also was a Kentucky Colonel. He had a love for animals and the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good friend.
Preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Paul Lee Wilkerson; sisters, Josephine Harralson, Geraldine Wilkerson, Gail Roberson and Betty Dempsey.
Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ann Greenfield Wilkerson; son, Nick Wilkerson of Louisville; daughter, Kathy (Robert) Groves of Earlington; grandsons, Zachary Groves of Louisville and Will Groves of Earlington; sisters, Loretta Crowe of Manitou and Christine Maxedon of White House, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville. Burial to follow in Concord Cemetery in White Plains. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
