Leon Wayne Pendley, 79 of Sacramento passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Born February 9, 1939, to the late Raymond and Louise (Adams) Pendley of Nortonville. He served in the Kentucky National Guard and the U.S. Army, he retired from Sinclair mines and was a member of the UMWA District 23. He enjoyed farming and caring for his cows and working on old cars, especially his 1981 Chevy pickup.
Preceded in death by brother, Charles Pendley; and sisters, Margaret Pendley and Francis Hulsey.
Survived by the love of his life and his wife of 61 years, Nelda (Cartwright) Pendley; son, Richard (Tracey) Pendley of Madisonville; daughter, Lisa (Shannon) Hudson of Sacramento; grandchildren, Amanda (Phillip) Cooper, Kaleigh (Sean) Feltner and Aaron Pendley all of Madisonville, Trevor Vandiver, Courtney and Trevor Wood, Cody Hudson and Cameron Hudson all of Sacramento; great-grandchildren, Colby, Hunter and Zoey Feltner, Ellie Cooper and Kenzlee Wood; and sisters, Wilma (G.H.) Duke and Geraldine Lutz.
Service will be held Thursday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. Bill Crabtree officiating. Burial to follow in New Salem Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. - 8:00P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00A.M. on Thursday. Pallbearers are Trevor Vandiver, Aaron Pendley, Shannon Hudson, Phillip Cooper, Sean Feltner, Cody and Cameron Hudson and Brian Babb. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Miller, Barry Ellis, Dickie Pendley, Mike Jarvis and Trevor Wood.
The family would like to invite any attendees with a classic car to drive it to the funeral.
