Micheal Eugene Hamilton, 64, of Mortons Gap died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at Baptist Health Madisonville. Born January 4, 1954, to the late James Hamilton and Lois Laverne Boitnott Hamilton Coleman. Mike was of Baptist Faith and a founding member of the South Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Fire Chief from 1984 until 2007 and was still an active member. He also served with the Mortons Gap Volunteer Fire Department as Assistant Chief. Mike loved the fire service and was dedicated to helping others. Another passion of his was his buses. He owned and operated M.H.B.S. Bus Service and drove for Pennyrile Pallets. His nickname was "Fire Chief" when he worked at Roberts Brother's Coal Co.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Coleman and Virgil Hamilton.
Survivors include brothers Robert (Leigh Ann) Coleman, Sidney (Tammy) Coleman, Roy Hamilton of IL, and James Hamilton of Russellville; sisters Lois (Mike) Coleman Arthaud, Kathi (Dave) Coleman Hastings-Lavin of IL, and Patricia (Thomas) Coleman Rembold of IL: many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and long time friend, Darwin Rideout and family.
Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at South Hopkins Fire Department in Nortonville with Bro. Lee Davis officiating. Burial is to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be at the fire department beginning at noon.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the South Hopkins Fire Department.
