Oliver Eugene Wicks, 97 of Crofton passed away at his home Thursday, August 23, 2018, surrounded by family. Born May 9, 1921, to the late Otho and Jeffie (Reynolds) Wicks of Fruit Hill. He was of Baptist Faith, a WWII Army veteran, and a retired truck driver for Roadway Trucking. He was a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite Temple, a member of E.W. Turner Masonic Lodge #548 for over fifty years, Rizpah Temple member where he was part of the Horse Patrol, American Legion Post 2 of Earlington member, a KY Colonel, and a member of the Parkway Saddle Club. Oliver enjoyed his family and being outdoors with horses, fishing and deer hunting.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Ibyll (Parish) Wicks;daughter, Lona Beth Wicks; son, Michael Eugene Wicks; son-in-law, Lionel Delmore; brothers, Chester Wicks and William Wicks; and sister, Dorothy Bullock.
Survived by daughter, Susan Delmore of TN; son, Tim (Berna) Wicks of Crofton; two grandsons, Micky Wicks of Dawson Springs and Keith Canter of TN; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Jake.
Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Dwight Brown officiating. Burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Earlington. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with Masonic Rites service at 7:00 P.M. and after 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday.
