Barbara Anne Browning, 80 of Jacksonville, NC, and formerly of White Plains, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born June 21, 1942, to the late Henry and Doris (Stanley) Rich. She was of Christian faith and attended church near her home. She spent her life being a mother to her siblings, her children and her grandchildren. Always a sweet, loving and caring person to everyone she met throughout life. Barbara loved dancing and she was proud to play the jug in the "Back Porch Gut Bucket Band."
Preceded in death by her husband, David Browning; and sister, Shelley Allen.
Survived by her three sons, Paul (Gwen) Browning of White Plains, Shane (Andrea) Browning of Madisonville and Chad (Tonita) Browning of Greenville; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Norman (Debe) Allen, Rev. Lennie Allen and Kenneth Allen, all of North Carolina.
A Celebration of Barbara's life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at noon at Mannington Baptist Church in Mannington, KY, with Rev. Lennie Allen and Rev. Shane Browning officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the church. Burial will be private for family only at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains, KY.
