Barbara Gail Hopper, 75 of Nortonville passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at her home with loved ones at her side. Born September 4, 1947, to the late Ambrose and Zadie (Duke) Whitfield of Barnsley. She loved God, liked to read her Bible and was of Pentecostal faith. She liked to keep her hummingbirds fed and coming to the porch, in the same way her cooking kept her family coming too. She enjoyed going camping and playing Bunco. Her grandchildren grew up with her as their babysitter, she loved being able to spend time with each of them.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Patsy Dilorenzo, Regina Stone, Loretta Brown Barnett and Jeff Whitfield.
Survived by her husband of 59 years, James Aubrey Hopper; daughters, Kimberly (Ricky) Major of Slaughters and Lisa (Tim) Brown of Suthards; 4 grandchildren, Samantha (Justin) Tabor, Morgan (Quentin) White, Blake Major and Audrey (Tanner) Crowe; 8 great-grandchildren, Jones & Rhodes Tabor, Carter, Duncan, Chandler & Coleman White, Kennedy & Marley Major; brother, Randy (Melissa) Whitfield of Park City; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Thursday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Calvin Gamblin officiating. Burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Blake Major, Ricky Major, Tim Brown, Justin Tabor, Quentin White and Tanner Crowe. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her great-grandchildren.
