Billy Joe Petitt, 66 of Madisonville passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at Baptist Health Deaconess. Born August 25, 1955, to the late John and Ellar (Parker) Petitt. He worked for the City of Madisonville in the Sanitation Department and Kelly's on South Main. He enjoyed going fishing. Billy could be found set up at different locations selling various produce at roadside stands.
Preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Petitt; parents; brothers, Raymond Petitt, Jamie Petitt, Basil Petitt, Jerry Petitt, Curtis Clifford Petitt and Johnny Ray Petitt; and sisters, Fannie Bryant and Edith Mitchell.
Survived by his nieces and nephews, Jane Messamore and family, Tim and Pearl Vickery and family, Debbie Powell and family, Connie McCluskey and family, Judy Arnett and family, Roger Petitt and family, Eddie Bryant and family, George Petitt and family, Mildred Bennett and family, and Tony Petitt and family.
Service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Shaun Vickery officiating. Burial to follow at New Suthards Baptist Church Cemetery in Earlington. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
