Brenda Kaye Larkins, 81 of Dawson Springs passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born November 2, 1944, to the late Lucian and Lola (Sadler) Barnett. She was a member of Day Spring Assembly of God in Dawson Springs. Brenda was musically blessed and she would sing and play piano at church whenever she could; she was always singing around the house too. As a child she even had the opportunity to sing at the Grand Ole Opry with her dad once. Brenda showed her love for others by cooking and feeding everyone and her moto was, "You better eat something so that you don't get hungry." She loved to spend time with her grandbabies; she was always up for playing a board game with them. Brenda could often be found reading her Bible. Her loving smile and kind heart will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Cook and Carroll Larkins, Jr.; brother, Roger Barnett; and grandson-in-law, Eric Hunter.
Survived by her three children, Steven Cook of Hopkinsville, Kenneth (Sandra) Cook of Dawson Springs and Tina (Kerry) Oliver of Dawson Springs; 8 grandchildren, Roxanne Hunter, Candice (Bryan) Teague, Amber (Trevor) Cothran, Haley Cook, Makayla (Steven) Bearden, Tember Oliver, Devan Oliver and Tyler Hale; great-grandchildren, Ayden Hunter, Aydrianna Hunter, Tucker Teague, Tori, Baylee, Colton Cothran, Breighlynn Bearden and Larkin Bearden; siblings, James (Dianne) Barnett, Reva (Roger) Lipford, Danny (Tracy) Barnett and Sharon (Robert) Crick; and several nieces and nephews.
