Carolee Ettline Moore, 52 of White Plains, KY, went home to her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2023, at Owensboro Health Hospital. Born June 29, 1971, in Charlottesville, VA to John Frederick and Louise (Burkhart) Ettline, her childhood was spent in Charleston, SC. Carolee and Rusty married in 2010 and enjoyed and adventurous and loving relationship. Carolee enjoyed travel, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. She especially cherished the time she had with her granddaughter, Ava Grace. Her faith in God was strong and gave her comfort and guidance throughout her life. She embraced everyone she knew and engaged you in a way that made you know how important you were to her. Simply put, Carolee was God’s love.
Carolee had a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourismfrom the University of South Carolina, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. The majority of her career was spent with Crestline Hotels and Resorts, which was the source of many long relationships she valued. Her leadership and knowledge was well respected in the hotel industry.
Carolee will remain in the hearts of those she loved, and those who loved her. She is survived by her husband, Russell D. Moore, parents J. Frederick (Renée) Ettline and Louise (L. Richard) James; children, Connor (Cassie McKinney) Moore and Kaitlin (Coley) Rogers; granddaughter, Ava Grace; sister, Karen (Jeffree) Bloomer; brothers, Doug (Carolee) James and Travis (Adam Graves) James; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service will be held Monday, December 4, at 5:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville, KY, with Sister Katherine Fox officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Concord Cemetery in White Plains. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm at the funeral home on Monday.
A separate celebration of life will be held in Charleston, SC at a later date.
The doctors, nurses and staff at Mitchell Cancer Center were wonderful in their care for Carolee during her journey. Special thanks to Dr. Jacob Hodskins and Deanna Young, RN.
