Carolyn Jean Hill Bandy, 89 of Greenville passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Born October 10, 1935, to the late Richard Lawrence and Blanche Irene (Parham) Hill of Weir. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Greenville. She worked as a bookkeeper and payroll throughout her life for H&R Block, TVA and Bandy Brothers Paving. She also worked as a teller for First Federal Bank for several years and was the owner of Silks Etc. Carolyn always stayed busy and tried to be active in the community by delivering meals for Meals on Wheels along with various other activities. As her children's lives moved them to other states, Carolyn would often make visits to babysit and help with her grandchildren; distance did not dampen her bond with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Morris Bandy; brothers-in-law, James (Wanda) Bandy, Adrian (Jean) Bandy and Harold (Georgia) Bandy; and nieces and nephews, Janie Daugherty, Larry Bandy, Gary Bandy, Mike Bandy, Benny Bandy and Robert Bandy.
Survived her 3 children, Pam (Gary) Stephenson of North Carolina, Steve Bandy of Michigan and Sarah (Jeff) Jenkins of Texas; 8 grandchildren, Daniel Stephenson, Derek (Carlee) Stephenson, Shelby Jenkins, Hayden Jenkins, Kennedy Jenkins, Cassidy Jenkins, Beau Bandy, and Madelyn Jenkins; 4 great-grandchildren, Fletcher, Rory, Hattie and Kellen Stephenson; brother, Richard (Sharon) Hill, II of IL; sister, Patricia (John) Forgy of TN; sister-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Gardner; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Monday, June 9, at 1:00pm at Church of Christ in Greenville. Burial to follow at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Weir. Visitation will begin at 11:00am until service hour at the Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Cherry Grove Cemetery Fund or Disaster Relief Churches, Inc.
The family would also like to express their deep appreciation for the staff at the Courtyard in Central City and all of the staff at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for the excellent care provided.
