Carolyn Annie Stanley, 78 of White Plains passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born March 30, 1944, to the late Jewell Woodson and Beatrice (Mosley) Carlton. She was a member of Orange Grove General Baptist Church and also attended Cole's Chapel's monthly service. She worked as a homemaker while her children were young and then went to work in housekeeping for the hospital for many years. She enjoyed her time fishing and canning, but was known by many as the best biscuit maker around.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest "Tub" Stanley; one infant; brothers, Woodson (Bonnie) Carlton and Durwood (June) Carlton; brother-in-law, Russell Crick; and sister-in-law, Sharon Carlton.
Survived by her children, Ricky (Maye) Stanley, Roger (Lou) Stanley, Randy Stanley and Wanda (Kenny) Mitchell all of White Plains; sister, Shirley Crick of White Plains; brothers, Henry Carlton of White Plains and Malon (Gail) Carlton of Livermore; 8 grandchildren, Lily and Savannah Mitchell, Tiffany (Chris) Hunter, Melody Moore, Logan Stanley, Candy (Kenny) Allen, Dino (Twila) Merrell and Eric (Christy) Merrell; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Thursday at noon at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial to follow at Stanley Cemetery in White Plains. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the funeral home.
