Charles Edward Proffitt

Charles "Eddie" Edward Proffitt, 72 of Dawson Springs passed away October 24, 2023, at his home.  Born July 28, 1951, to the late William Durwood Proffitt and the late Carrie (Pace) Proffitt.  Eddie was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA District 23.  He had a love for horses, enjoyed riding and going on horse rides with his friends.

Survived by his daughter, Danielle Masters of Mortons Gap; brother, Billy Joe (Kim) Proffitt of Mortons Gap; sister, Cricket (Guy) Van Cleve of Madisonville; grandchildren, Tyler and Katlyn Masters; and great-grandchildren, Khelan and Leighla Silman, C.J. Lester-Goza, Sawyer and Oakley Masters, and one-on-the-way.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 3, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville.  Burial will take place at a later date at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
