Cheryl Boteler Hamby, 78 of Madisonville and formerly of Nortonville passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing. Born September 26, 1946, to the late Bill and I.B. Boteler. Cheryl worked as a beautician for over 50 years, she spent much of that time at the Nortonville Beauty Shop and several years at Hairworks Salon. She was always a proud of her boys and watching them grow families of their own brought her joy.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Tommy Hamby.
Survived by her sons, Darren (Angie) Hamby of Madisonville, Rev. Derik (Katie) Hamby of Madison Heights, VA and Dustin (Katy) Hamby of Ashland City, TN; brother, Charles (Jonelle) Boteler of Louisville; grandchildren, Lexie (Cody) Crabtree, Kanen Hamby, Rachel Hamby and Will Hamby; and great-grandchildren, Maggie Crabtree and Tripp Crabtree.
Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Rev. Derik Hamby officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Darren Hamby, Dustin Hamby, Lexie Crabtree, Kanen Hamby, Rachel Hamby, Will Hamby and David Gilkey. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Boteler, Lynn Boteler and Steve Boteler.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
