Christopher Lee Johnson

Christopher Lee Johnson, 48 of Madisonville passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  After graduating from high school, Chris worked as a security guard for a coal mines.  He enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting, and he liked to go "junking".  Chris loved spending time with his family; he had a special bond and love for his nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Freddie Phelps; sister, Mindy Clark; and his grandparents.

Survived by his mother, Robin Phelps; wife, Kristy Adkison; 3 brothers, David (Rebecca) Phelps of Madisonville, Lyndell (Ashley) Phelps of Madisonville, and Shane (Kristie) Scott of Arkansas; nieces and nephews; and several other extended family members.

Memorial Service will be held Sunday at noon at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Dennis Mosby officiating.

Visitation will begin at 10:00am until noon at the funeral home.  Burial will be private for family only at a later date.
