Coalene Melvin Cansler, 93 of Nortonville passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020, at her home. Born September 21, 1926, to the late Junior and Nonie (Lyle) Gamblin of Nortonville. She attended Jesus Name Church, nondenominational, just loved the Lord. She worked many years as a nurse aid at Western State Hospital before retiring. She provided a lot of love to her kids and grandkids that she enjoyed raising. In recent years if you stopped by you could watch some Hallmark movies with her.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Isaiah Payne; daughter, Patricia Lemons; son, Phil Payne; and sister, Chlorine Payne.
Survived by her daughters, Barbara Hankins, Aquilla (Wayne) Johnson and Alice Clark; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Bandy Funeral Home on Tuesday at 2:00P.M. with Bro. Brad Payne officiating. Burial to follow at Shaw Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at noon. Pallbearers will be Tony Gibson, Michael Payne, Matthew Richardson, Russel Lemons, Michael Long and Billy Miller.
Attendees are mandated to wear a mask and social distancing is expected. Anyone with a fever or signs/symptoms within the past 14 days is requested to not attend.
