David Back

Onnie David Back, 75 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  Born June 5, 1949, to the late Onnie and Betty (Scott) Back of Nortonville.  David worked as a coal miner for over 47 years after graduating high school.  After retirement he could often be found with the Cat's Den roundtable discussion group drinking coffee and solving world issues.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Back.

Survived by his 2 children, Chris (Tina Justice) Back of Nebo and Leslie (Tim) Murphy of VA; and grandson, Alex Back of MO.

Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating.  Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home.
