Donnie “Skippy” Gene Morris

Donnie “Skippy” Gene Morris, 76 of Dawson Springs passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Baptist Health Deaconess.  Born April 22, 1947, to the late William Herman and Lizzy (Moore) Morris of St. Charles.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a coal miner and UMWA member.  He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with them at their activities and hobbies is what brought him joy.  

Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn (Davis) Morris; sister, Shirley Lanham; and brothers, W.R. Morris and Earl Wayne Morris.

Survived by his 2 sons, Bill (Lanel) Morris of Dawson Springs and Donnie (Tina) Morris of Marion, IL; 4 grandchildren, Kyle (Kenya) Morris, Ashely (James) Bivins, Lindsey (Jeremiah) Adams and Cameron (Lexy) Morris; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Hilda) Morris of Madisonville; and sister, Carolyn Sue (Greg) Coyle of Madisonville.

Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 3, at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Brad Payne officiating.  Burial to follow at Lake Grove Cemetery in St. Charles with military rites provided by Hopkins County Honor Guard at the graveside.  Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Pallbearers will be Bill Morris, Jeremiah Adams, Cameron Morris, James Bivins, Kyle Morris and Mike Morris.
