Douglas Eugene Keen, 76 of St. Charles passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born November 16, 1944, to the late Hall Keen and the late Carrie Cook Winstead. He worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal along with other jobs throughout his life. He was a member of Living Word Christian Center in St. Charles. He also served in the U.S. Army and Reserves. Doug had a benevolent heart, always happy to lend a helping hand where he saw a need….especially if yard mowing was involved.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lellia Farmer Keen.
Survived by his wife, Juanita Payne Keen; children, Grant Keen of Ilsley, Chris Keen of Ilsley, andSteve Keen of Henderson; and step-children, Brad (Kelly) Payne of St. Charles and Mike (Crystal) Payne of Nortonville; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and 3 step-grandchildren.
Service will be held Wednesday at 1:00p.m. at Living Word Christian Center in St. Charles with Bro. Brad Payne officiating. Burial to follow at Ilsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 11:00a.m. at the church.
