Duprey Lee (Smith) Mitchell

Duprey Lee Mitchell, 90 of Nortonville passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at Brighton Cornerstone Nursing in Madisonville.  Born January 7, 1936, to the late Lawson ad Lula (Jackson) Smith of Nortonville.  Duprey was a long-standing member of The River and she served as a greeter with the church for many years.  She loved to be outdoors working and gardening in her yard and making sure that her lawn was freshly mowed.  She use to enjoy going fishing with her late husband, Jim.  Duprey was always pleasant and kind with a smile to share.  

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sebrena Mitchell.

Survived by her two granddaughters, Jessica (Colby) McPeek and Jennifer Kellam all of Nortonville; 6 great-grandchildren, Joleigh Clark, Jayci Clark, Ainsley Kellam, Kenlee Kellam, Cole McPeek and Evie McPeek; and sister, Stephanie O'Leary.

Service will be held Thursday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Pastor Howard Jones officiating.  Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.  Visitation will be from 11:00am - 1:00pm at the funeral home.
