Ethel Gaynell Barnes, 97 of Nortonville passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing. Born July 14, 1922, to the late Robert Lee McIntosh and the late Lydia Catherine (Hight) McIntosh in Crofton before moving to Nortonville at an early age. Her genealogy blood lines include McIntosh, Hight, Grace, Armstrong and Longs. She was a life long member and oldest member of Nortonville United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James H. Barnes; daughter, Judy Morgan; four sisters, Lola Oates, Opel Keith, Ruby Bilbro and Pauline Graddy; and brother, Robert McIntosh.
Survived by her son, Steve (Vickie) Barnes of Madisonville; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four nephews; and three nieces.
Due to social distancing and regard for the well-being of family and friends services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place privately at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in her honor to the Nortonville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 403, Nortonville, KY 42442.
