George "Cowboy" Edward Johnson, Sr., 84 of Dawson Springs passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Baptist Health Hospital. Born August 11, 1936, to the late Bedford and Dessie (Carroll) Johnson. He was a coal truck driver for Roberts Brothers Trucking before retirement.
Preceded in death by his son, Tracy Johnson; brothers, Garland Johnson, Pete Johnson, James William Johnson and Bill Green; and sisters, Martha Galloway and Earlene Pollard.
Survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Bertha (O'Bryan) Johnson; children, Eddie (Daphne) Johnson, Jr., Melinda Johnson and Randall Johnson; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Wayne (Aquilla) Johnson and Charles (Vera) Johnson.
Graveside service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Dawson Springs on Wednesday at 11:00a.m. with Bro. Phillip Dunning officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:15 a.m. at graveside.
