Helen Elizabeth Bowers

Helen Elizabeth Bowers, 84 of Hopkinsville transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Christian Health Center.  Born September 12, 1934, to the late Hubert and Hazel (Boggess) Bowers, Sr.  She graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1956.  She worked for the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Employment Services for 39 years before retiring in 1996.  Helen was a beloved lifelong member of the Nortonville United Methodist Church and also the First United Methodist Church of Hopkinsville.  She always had a smile and a kind word to give and she loved being with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Hubert Smith Bowers, Jr.; and niece, Amy Bowers Cavanaugh.

Survived by her niece, Bettina Bowers of Nashville, Tennessee; and nephew, Hubert Smith "Smitty" Bowers, III, of Madison, Tennessee. 

Service will be held on Friday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Ron Henn and Dr. Glenn Sowards officiating.  Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Madisonville.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
