Jackie Ray Farmer, 77 of Madisonville passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Hillside Center in Madisonville. Born August 10, 1946, to the late Clyde and Novella (Sneed) Farmer of Mannington. He was a member of Nortonville Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter for a construction company and he owned some pay lakes in Nortonville many years ago. Jackie always enjoyed spending his time fishing, gardening his tomatoes, and he was skilled at wood-working. He had a fun loving personality, always ready to pick and aggravate a little.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Joe Farmer; brother, Bobby "Winky" Farmer; and wife, Faye Brooks Farmer.
Survived by his wife, Peggy Vandiver Farmer; daughter, Marchetti Underwood of Owensboro; stepdaughter, Melissa (Casey) Larkins of White Plains; and 3 grandchildren, Ashton Farmer, Elizabeth Larkins and Sarah Larkins.
Service will be held Monday at 2:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Bobby Reno officiating. Burial to follow at Good Hope Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at noon at the funeral home.
