James Ralph Dunlap, 85 of White Plains passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Born February 7, 1939, to the late Guy and Esteen (McFarlin) Dunlap of White Plains. He was a member of Christian Biblical Church of God. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served actively for 4 years before entering into the Reserve. James owned and operated Dunlap's Garage throughout his adulthood. He was very honest and kind with his customers, never trying to push extra costs. He loved the life that he had built with his beloved wife.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Madelyn Carlisle, Boyce Dunlap, Billy Dunlap, Ronnie Dunlap, Darrell Dunlap and Diane Larkins.
Survived by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Dunlap; children, Matthew Dunlap, Judy Barclay, Dewayne Dunlap and Sandra Taylor; 6 grandchildren, Krissy, Stephanie, Brandi, Christy, Ben and Dylan; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby Dunlap and Sue Barringer; brother-in-law, Glenn (Liz) McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial took place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
