James Edward Obenchain, 83 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home. Born May 26, 1939, to the late Arthur and Gertie (Wilson) Obenchain in Fordsville. He was a proud Army veteran, he was a Greenville High School Graduate and he attended the Nashville Diesel Auto Mechanic School. He was a tool and dye maker and a machinist, and worked for Bowles Tool & Dye for many years. James enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He was very proud of his daughter and grandchildren, and very excited about his great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Obenchain.
Survived by his daughter, Sue Ellen Stone (Jason McKinney) of Manitou; grandchildren, Mayson Stone (Farron Harris) of Mortons Gap, Ethan Stone of Anton and Matt Stone of Providence; great-granddaughter, Rhyan Harris; sister, Betty Thomas of Pembroke; niece, Cynthia Gray; and nephew, Joe Sandefur.
Service will be held Monday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Daniel Orten officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home.
