James Loyd Franklin, 69 of Dawson Springs passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home. Born July 29, 1952, to the late Loyd Rudolph and Martha Agnes Franklin. He worked as a truck driver throughout his life and recently at Nortonville City Sand & Gravel. He liked to spend time on his tractor and watching his grandchildren. He also had a collection of classic model cars, some he had made with family.
Preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Robert Franklin and Keith Franklin.
Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon Fuller Franklin; 4 children, Thomas (Kim) Franklin, Samuel (Ashley) Franklin, Rose (Shawn) Camplin and Aaron (Kiona) Franklin; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Franklin, Whitney Brooks, Melanie Slate, Ashley Hartford, Creed Franklin, Haven Franklin, Journey Franklin, Lillie Camplin, Drake Camplin, Riley Franklin and Aiden Franklin; 7 great-grandchildren, Peyton Osborn, Jaxon Hartford, Lucas Hartford, Olivia Franklin, Hunter Franklin, McKenna Slate and Avery Brooks; brother, Donald (Beverly) Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside service was held Monday, August 30, 2021, at Cranor Cemetery in St. Charles.
