James Tilford Neathery

James Tilford Neathery, 80 of White Plains passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home.  Born July 27, 1942, to the late James Harlan and Mattie Virginia Oates Neathery.  He played basketball for Austin Peay University as he attended undergraduate school.  He then earned a Masters degree in Administration from Western Kentucky University before achieving his Rank 1 Professional degree from Murray State University.  He had a long career in education serving as teacher, coach, principal and as Director of Pupil Personnel.  Tilford had a passion for golf.  Some of his most memorable times were golfing trips throughout the country.  He rode his motorcycle through every state except for Hawaii.  He found his greatest joy in life from time with his family and friends, especially time with his two beautiful granddaughters.

Survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Suzanne Fitch Neathery; son, James Leif (Sarah) Neathery of Madisonville; and granddaughters,  Rayleigh and Ramsey Neathery.

His service was private to immediate family and his burial took place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in White Plains.
