Jimmie Ross Phillips, 84 of Nortonville passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021, at his home. Born September 5, 1936, to the late William and Mary (Key) Phillips of Nortonville. He was a retired coal miner from Amax Coal and a member of UMWA District 23. Jimmie was an avid fisherman throughout his younger years, and he enjoyed woodworking in his spare time. He was proud of the family that he and his beloved wife had created and loved spending time with each and everyone. He was a pillar of strength with a warm heart and loving smile.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 61years, Carolyn Bedwell Phillips; daughter, Vicki Faulk; baby, Keith Phillips; grandson, Nate Phillips; brothers, Frank Phillips and Bobby Phillips; and sisters, Dorothy Adams and Hilda Blaner.
Survived by his three sons, Jeff (Lisa) Phillips of Nortonville, Kevin (Janneke) Phillips of Utah and Randy (Tracie) Phillips of Nortonville; 8 grandchildren, Jason (Crystal) Faulk, Jenny Phillips Martinez, Josh (Ashley) Phillips, Patrick (April) Phillips, Duska Phillips, Tiffany (Bryan) Harrison, Chad ( Ashley) Phillips, and Scotty Phillips; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Louis Shiver; brother, William (Janet) Phillips; brother-in-law, Terry Blaner; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M.at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Bro. Steve Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00A.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Patrick Phillips, Josh Phillips, Nick Phillips, Jeffrey Phillips, Chad Phillips and Brian Harrison.
Due to Covid-19 masks are mandated and social distancing is required by attendees. Anyone that has or has had signs/symptoms or has tested positive in the past 14 days is requested to not attend.
