Joe Morris Huddleston, 84 of St. Charles passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Heartford House in Owensboro. Born September 8, 1939, to the late Hobert and Delcie Huddleston. He was of Baptist faith and a United States Army veteran. He worked on oil rigs and as a coal miner before becoming a farmer. In the coal mines he was a “cutter” and was awarded a pick-up truck from his employer for his abilities. Joe was a single dad to two daughters and he also helped care for his other family members throughout life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, George Huddleston, Robert Huddleston, Nevaline Hicks, Mary “Beadie” Huddleston and Margaret Ware; and brother-in law, Alfred Weir.
Survived by his daughters, Linda Gail Huddleston and Terry May Sargent; 2 grandchildren, Kaylee Jo Sargent and Dylan Sargent; brother and best friend, Herbert “Dub” Huddleston; sister, Lucille Weir; several other extended family and friends; and his beloved dog, Pity Pat.
Graveside service will be held at 4:00pm Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Union Temple Cemetry in St. Charles and will be officiated by Bro. Brad Payne. Pallbearers will be Billy Sargent, Dylan Sargent, Kenny Morris, Mark Morris, John Compton and Josh Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Dub Huddleston, Bud Terry, Ricky Bennett, Buddy Bennett, Leo Huddleston and Stick Bennett.
