John "Butch" Harrison Bowley, 67 of Nortonville passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at his home. Born February 6, 1959, to the late Thomas Russell and Catherine Lena (Smith) Bowley. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Nortonville. John worked as a concrete foreman with construction crews throughout his working years. He enjoyed going fishing, gardening and just being outdoors. When he couldn't be outside then he could be found working on his model airplanes. John had a love for music and he truly loved the adventure of a music festival. He also had an appreciation for Harley's. His family brought a smile to his face and joy to his heart.
In additon to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Randall Payne; and grandchild, Steven Jamos Morse.
Survived by his wife, Vicky (Smith) Bowley; children, Cheyenne Bowley of Nortonville, Jonas Bowley of Louisville, Carissa Bowley of Hopkinsville; stepchildren, Keisha (Kevin) Mullins of Earlington, Danielle (Steve) Morse of FL, and Shane (Monica) Chapman of Madisonville; grandchildren, Katie, Tarissa, Jenna, Jaden, John Thomas, Mikayla, Connor, Aiden, Alex, Elizabouth, Tori, Olivia, Natalie, Bailey, Lucas and Cainen; great-grandchildren, Ava, Alana, Grayson and Jason; siblings, Bill (Kathy) Bowley of NC, Kitty (David) Himmelheber of Providence, Tom Bowley of Nortonville, Richard (Sherry) Payne of Nortonville and Randall (Angie) Payne of Hanson; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held Friday at 4:00pm at New Salem Baptist Church in Nortonville.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the church.
