John Edward Cates, 86 of Slaughters passed away Monday, February 22, 2021, at Hillside Villa in Madisonville. Born August 28, 1934 to the late John William and Gladys (Lewis) Cates. He was a Navy veteran with over 3 years of service. He also worked many years in the maintenance department at RMC Hospital and Trover Clinic.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Wreatha Rodgers Cates; and son, John Edward Cates, Jr.
Survived by his sister, Sue Kulick Cates; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately by family and friends at a later date.
