Jurild Thurman Eli, 84 of Dawson Springs passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at his home. Born February 4, 1939, to the late Joseph Vernon and Dixie (Ashmore) Eli at their home on Buttermilk Road in St. Charles, KY. He was of Baptist faith, he attended University of Kentucky before completing an apprenticeship with TVA Construction.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Eli; sisters, Estella Littlepage and Mary Frances Miller; brothers-in-law, Charles Whitfield, Jay Littlepage and Bill Miller; and sister-in-law, Sandra Eli.
Survived by his devoted wife of more than 62 years, Phyllis Ann (Cavanaugh) Eli; daughters, Angela (Scott) Winkler of Murray and Julia (James) Ray of Meridianville, AL; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Renison, Amy (Christopher) Teats, Eric (Jenson) Winkler, Cole (Sydney) Peyton and Anna Peyton; great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Gwendolyn and Katherine Peyton; brother, Joseph Eli; sisters, Katherine Whitfield, Georgia Miller, Sue (David) Posvic and Charlotte (Raymond) Ward; brother-in-law, Rodney Miller; sister-in-law, Faye Eli; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be held Saturday at 1:00pm at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with Rev. Dennis Mayfield and Rev. Travis Fox officiating. Burial to follow at New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville. Visitation will begin at 11:00am at the funeral home.
