Kathryn "Kathy" S. Ayres

Kathryn "Kathy" Sharon Ayres, 67 of White Plains passed away Monday, January 18, 2021, at her home.  Born November 2, 1953, to the late James Henry and Lois (Fortner) Ayres of Alabama.  She was a member of LifePoint Church in White Plains.  Kathy retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff Department in Birmingham, AL, with over 30 years of service.  She was civic minded and previously served as a council woman in Argo, AL.  She loved her animals and was an avid gardener.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her niece, Tammy Riley.

Survived by her sister, Brenda Riley of Eufaula, AL; nephews, Davey "Buzz" Riley, Jr. of New York and Michael (Kathryn) Riley of South Carolina.

Memorial service will be held Sunday at 12:00 P.M. noon at LifePoint Church with Bro. Troy Doster officiating.  Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Jack's Place (animal shelter).  Information and address listed below.
